UTAB Senior managers, BoD members and distinguished guests standing up for the national Anthem at the opening ceremony of 9th graduation at UTAB Kamitsinga campus

This important event took place on 12 December 2019  at University of Technology and Arts of Byumba UTAB and 447 students were awarded Bachelor’s degrees in Education faculty (Arts and Humanities, Education in Sciences),  Faculty of Agriculture, Environmental Management and Renewable Energy and Faculty of Social Sciences, Management and Development Studies.

In his welcome remarks, Dr. Niyonzima Eliezer the Ag. Vice Chancellor of UTAB emphasized that every graduand has been empowered by training they benefited from UTAB and will inspire anybody around their working environment to ever look and seek for innovation, solutions and charts best ways to attain everlasting integral development of themselves. He revealed this when addressing a huge gathering that included UTAB community, government officials, leaders and representatives of different HLIs, the population of Gicumbi District and different partners who turned up immensely to celebrate UTAB 9th Graduation Ceremony.

Among the speakers at the event was Mrs. ISIMBI Sandrine a graduand who addressed the congregation on behalf of graduates. He expressed his gratitude to the University leadership especially the former Vice Chancellor Prof.Dr. Nyombayire Faustin, lecturers and the wider University community for their tremendous contribution which will enable them to stand for the bright future of the nation. She also pledged strong commitment to continue building a more prosperous country that fits all citizens.  

Mr. Ivan WULFAERT, the Managing Director of Skol and 1st Deputy Chairperson of UTAB Board of Directors take-home message to graduates focused on his view that learning is a long life exercise. He said: You must keep learning. This graduation is the start of learning not a stopping point of learning.” He also hailed the leadership of faculty, staff at the UTAB for their commitment that culminated to the achievement of the graduation milestone.

Governor of Northern Province who was the guest of Honor GATABAZI JMV requested graduands to put the knowledge acquired from UTAB to good use so as to contribute to the development of the nation, region and the world at large. His word of appreciation was extended to the UTAB founders, Partners, Parents and Academic staff for their assistance to students. He concluded his speech by reminding the graduates to keep in mind that they are the future of the country and the future of the world.
