On 20 January 2022, the University of Technology and Arts of Byumba (UTAB) in collaboration with the Rwanda Organic Agriculture Movement (ROAM) were held a validation workshop on a baseline study for strawberry and pineapple values chain analysis to identify knowledge gaps, needs, and priorities for smallholder farmers in Gakenke, Rulindo, Kamonyi, and Muhanga District. This validation workshop attracted 25 stakeholders from various organic sectors in Rwanda.
In her welcoming remarks, the ROAM CEO Madam Lise Chantal Dusabe welcomed the stakeholders to the workshop and explained more about ROAM, the history, its key areas of operations, and its mandate as a national umbrella organization that provides leadership and professional advisory services to all stakeholders in the organic agriculture sector in Rwanda.
Opening remarks were done by Father. Dr. MUNANA Gilbert, O.P, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Technology and Arts of Byumba (UTAB). He thanked ROAM and all the EOA (Ecological Organic Agriculture) partners for their great commitment to promoting Ecological Organic Agriculture in Rwanda.
